NbS Market Opportunity Assessment

Learn if Nature-based Solution Markets Can Fund Your Nation's Vision

What is a Market Opportunity Assessment?

An NbS Market Opportunity Assessment is a desktop-based evaluation designed to help Indigenous governments understand funding opportunities for nature-based solutions (NbS) that work for their Nation.

We begin by understanding the Nation’s vision for activities on their lands and waters, their stage in planning and implementation, and key areas of interest regarding NbS. Next, we review existing information—both publicly available sources and any data the Indigenous government is willing to share. We then assess eligibility for various market opportunities and, where possible, provide rough estimates of potential costs and revenue.

An NbS Market Opportunities Assessment will determine if your projects are qualified for current NbS market landscapes, and if existing markets are aligned with your Nation’s vision for the land. This assessment will help Indigenous governments weigh their options and provides clear data that can be used to make informed decisions about whether to invest further resources in a particular opportunity.
